Floating/Breaks Instructor

45 hours DCF must be completed to start.
We are searching for a Floater to assist with breaks for other staff. Help ensure that the basic and educational needs of our students are met. As a toddler teacher, you will be required to prepare and deliver classroom activities, communicate with staff and parents, and ensure that the learning environment remains safe at all times. You should also be an excellent role model for our students.
The Floating Instructor could also be a part of the classroom team that helps children aged 2-5 years to arrange and facilitate successful learning experiences. Responsibilities include fostering each child’s mental, cognitive, academic, language, and physical growth in a very healthy and academic atmosphere that supervises them. The Floating Teacher will assist the Lead Teacher to ascertain the curriculum of the classroom. Floating teachers are allocated as appropriate to a classroom and the job varies consistent with the necessity. To assist as required, people must be ready to move between classes.

To be successful as a toddler teacher, you should be creative, energetic, and able to encourage self-expression. Top candidates will possess a thorough understanding of the contextual factors that shape early childhood development.
Floater Responsibilities:
- Providing breaks for other staff.
- Encouraging self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral reinforcement.
- Tending to students' basic needs.
- Mediating conflict between students.
- Modelling appropriate behaviors, even when not on duty.
- Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning at all times.
- Attending staff meetings.
- Cleaning at the end of the day.
Floater Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable.
- Clear criminal record.
- Prior experience working with young children, preferably within a similar setting.
- CPR and First Aid.
- Completed 45 DCF hours.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Warm, approachable disposition.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work during evenings and on weekends, as required.
- A passion for early childhood development.
